Yoko Ono: Wish Tree
June 29 – September 2, 2013
South Terrace

Yoko Ono's ongoing Wish Tree project will be featured at the Museum starting June 29th in honor of this summer's Grand Opening celebration. An artist, musician, and peace activist, Ono invites visitors to write down a wish on a piece of paper, and then attach the wish to a branch of a Wish Tree.

Since 1996 Ono has been gathering such wishes from around the world—now totaling over a million—which are then sent to the Imagine Peace Tower in Reykjavík, Iceland, created in 2007 by Ono in memory of her late husband John Lennon. Ono's Wish Tree project is an inviting participatory art installation for all who carry wishes and dreams wherever they go.

Curated by Tricia Y. Paik, associate curator of modern and contemporary art, Yoko Ono: Wish Tree will be featured at the Museum from June 29 through September 2, 2013
