An invoice dated August 7, 1967 from Alvarez to May further documents the purchase, listed as "10 (Ten) Monte Alban I/II urns / Grey terracotta w/ traces of cinnabar." The purchase was for two sets of five matching urns, 249:1978.1-.5 and 250:1978.1-.5 [note and invoice, May Archives, Saint Louis Art Museum].
[2] A letter dated September 29, 1978 from Morton D. May to James N.
