NOTES
All moccasin making begins with constructing a rawhide or soft sole, hide uppers, a shoe tongue and supported ankle cuffs, and is finished with different beadwork colors and patterns that make important aesthetic and visual statements. The moccasins at far left reveal signature elements that define Tsistsistas (Cheyenne) style, such as slanted cuffs, masterful beadwork that covers the entire surface of the front panel or vamp, triangular “tipi and door” border designs in green, red, and blue, and the trademark appearance of a single design at the very tip of the toe.
