Self-Taught Genius: Treasures from the American Folk Art Museum

Self-Taught Genius explores American folk art, past and present, that blurs frontiers between disciplines, makes definitions look constricted, and forces us to reconsider our assumptions about artistic creativity. The individuals whose work is featured in this exhibition have actively participated in the shaping of American visual culture, influencing generations of artists and establishing lively traditions. Created by The Amon Carter Museum of American Art in conjunction with the American Folk Art Museum, this audio guide includes expert commentary on 12 works of art in the exhibition.
